Thermostat settings affect your comfort directly. That's why it is very important to know the ideal thermostat setting indoors. There are multiple ways to achieve a reasonable balance between your comfort, indoor temperature, and energy savings.

SOME TIPS TO SET UP AN IDEAL TEMPERATURE DURING WINTER

When you warm your home - no matter if you are more interested in comfort or economy, it might take a little checking and adjustment to find the perfect balance at the thermostat. Setting your thermostat to 68° F is a strong energy-saving heating rule of thumb. Increase the temperature by 1 or 2 degrees at a time for more warmth. Reduce the temperature by 1 or 2 degrees at a time to save energy.

Ideal room temperature adjustment during summer.
Nothing beats the relief of a cool, moisture controlled house during the hotter months. To find your comfort try to put a good mix of improved energy efficiency into your air conditioning system at 78° F. If it's too warm, start adjusting your comfort zone from there.
